FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
Par Hawaii to Hold Community Outreach Meeting on
New Cogeneration Facility in Kapolei to Run on Renewable Fuels
Kapolei, Hawaii — Par Hawaii, which operates the state’s only oil refinery, is holding a community informational meeting about its newly proposed electric and steam cogeneration project that will run on renewable fuels. The unit will be on the refinery’s property in Campbell Industrial Park in Kapolei.
Hawaiian Electric selected Par Hawaii’s project to support Hawaiian Electric’s increased use of renewable energy to generate electricity. When fully operational in 2027, Par Hawaii’s project will generate 30 megawatts of electricity — enough to power approximately 30,000 homes in the community.
The informational meeting will be held in person and be accessible online.
Date: Wednesday, Aug. 28, 2024
Time: 6 pm – 7 pm
Location: Hale O Hele
