KAPOLEI, HAWAII — Par Hawaii’s refinery in Kapolei, which produces of a wide range of fuels for Hawaii consumers, celebrates its 50th anniversary this year. To commemorate this important milestone, Par Hawaii recently gave $50,000 to Aloha United Way, the majority of which came from generous contributions of Par Hawaii employees Since 2017, Par Hawaii has raised nearly $525,000 for AUW. Proceeds will benefit AUW’s more than 340 nonprofit agencies that serve the community.
“We all know someone, a friend or family member or a business associate, who has been touched by a nonprofit organization that receives support from AUW,” said Eric Wright, Par Hawaii president. “We’re glad to continue our support of AUW so that they can serve more families in our islands.”
“This is a big milestone for us. We’ve come a long way and are excited about what’s on the horizon,” Wright said. “As our state continues its transition to renewable energy, Par Hawaii has begun to explore how to reconfigure our refinery units to process biofuels to continue to meet the state’s energy needs into the future. We’ll continue to invest in refinery and in the community for our future.”
