Par Hawaii Names Deaglan McClean
Vice President of its Kapolei Refinery

Kapolei, Hawaii — Deaglan McClean, who has nearly 35 years of leadership experience in refining, has joined the Par Hawaii team as vice president and general manager of the Kapolei refinery, which supplies refined fuels to meet the state’s energy needs.

McClean has worked in Mississippi, California, Australia and, prior to joining Par Hawaii, was with the Astron Refinery in Cape Town, South Africa, where he held a number of operational and business leadership roles. His most recently was that refinery’s commercial manager and acting general manager and oversaw a major overhaul and restart of the facility.

“We’re fortunate to have Deaglan on our team.  His many years of refining experience and his leadership abilities will serve us well in fulfilling Par Hawaii’s mission to provide energy to Hawaii in a reliable, safe and environmentally responsible manner.  I know that he and his wife, Rose, are excited to join our island community,” said Eric Wright, Par Hawaii president.

McClean began his career in process engineering and operations support at the Cape Town refinery in 1988.  He later held operational leadership roles at the Cape Town refinery, Santos Australia, and Chevron’s U.S. Pascagoula and Richmond refineries. From 2006 to 2009, he was responsible for strategic planning for Chevron’s refining system, based in San Ramon, California, and had a two-year assignment at Chevron’s Richmond refinery from 2014-2016.
