The Kona Country Club Ocean Golf Course features lush, wide open fairways with Bermuda grass greens and numerous sand bunkers. This Hawaii golf course features coastline views, trails of lava flows, and is enriched with Hawaiian culture and wildlife. Be ready to take pictures to remember your Hawaii golf vacation on signature holes #3 and #12, and watch for the grand splash on hole #13 where you'll see the Hawaiian puka, or blow hole.
There wil be tournament play October 17-18, 2009. Please be advised that tee time availability will be limited.
Hawaii's golf concierge says:
"This golf course is very close to the shoreline and has a strong crosswind, making it a more difficult course. You can't beat the scenic Pacific Ocean and coastline views to add memories for your golf vacation. Watch for whales from November through March."
Tips for this course:
- This course opens with a long, dogleg left 380-yard par 4. Aim for the large tree on the right of the fairway. Plan your approach carefully because this green is just 18 yards from front to back, so it's easy to overshoot.
- Can you say straight ? You can on hole #11. This 527-yard par 5 is very straight, but watch out for the sand bunkers on the left and right of the fairway. Hit it down the middle of the fairway and this hole is a no-brainer.
